Bankruptcy Rules You Should Know Before You Consider Filing

July 5, 2010 · Filed Under Declaring Bankruptcy

If you are drowning in debt and trying to decide whether bankruptcy is your only option; here are some bankruptcy rules that will help you determine whether this may be your only option. Of course you will have to be the one that makes the final decision after all I am not an attorney and can only provide you some tips on how I made the decision to create my personal bankruptcy story.

1. Debt: If you currently have more than $25,000 in unsecured debt; then filing bankrupt may be your only option to get out from underneath it all.

2. Budget: Are you currently budgeting all the money that comes into your home; however it seems as though you rarely have more than $200 free every month. Does it seem as though it is impossible to come up with the money for gas that you need for your vehicles or the food on the table? If this is the case then you may have no other option.

3. Credit Counselors: Of course if you are considering filing then most likely you have spoken to a financial advisor. Have they informed you that there is nothing that they can do for your situation? One of the bankruptcy rules is that you speak to a financial advisor to find out whether there is an alternative to this problem.

4. Medical Bills: Unfortunately many people do not have health insurance; and this can pose a problem when it comes to medical bills. Does it seem as though you are paying most of your income to your medical bills and it does not leave anything left over for anything else?

5. Options: You have looked at all your options of being able to avoid bankruptcy and it does not seem like you have no other option?

While no one wants to be in this situation if you have followed these bankruptcy rules to find out whether you could avoid your present situation and nothing seems to work. In fact everything seems to be screaming; “File Bankruptcy” then I highly recommend that you speak with a bankruptcy attorney who can get all your questions answered. Click Here
